Giuseppe Zaffino is managing partner and CEO of Greenwich’s Green and Heathy Building Business Unit. His leadership has led the Unit to steadily become the company’s core business, allowing Greenwich to simultaneously expand and strengthen in other areas of sustainability services.
Giuseppe Zaffino’s established experience in sustainability in Real Estate represents excellence in the field. His journey in Green Building began in 2007, immediately after graduating with a Master’s Degree in Science and Technology for the Environment and the Territory, at a crucial time for the development of environmental certifications in Italy, when Greenwich participated in the Porta Nuova project in Milan. From the beginning, Zaffino quickly established himself as a key figure in consulting for environmental sustainability in Real Estate, working in just over 15 years of experience on a portfolio of more than 800 projects and obtaining a series of prestigious international accreditations, recognized by major organizations, such as the Green Building Council (GBC), the WELL Building Institute and the Building Research Establishment (BRE).
In addition to the titles of LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, WELL PTA, BREEAM Assessor (International New Construction, Refurbishment and Fit-Out, and BREEAM in Use), and GBC Home AP, he achieves one of the highest honors in the industry in 2021, earning the title of LEED Fellow from Green Business Certification Inc., an achievement that confirms his expertise and dedication.
Under his leadership, Greenwich performs at levels of excellence, both in the role of LEED Project Administrator with LEED Proven Provider LEED BD+C, LEED ID+C and LEED O+M qualification (first company in Europe), BREEAM Admistration, and throughout the entire certification process of a WELL building, after the recent recognition of WELL Performance Testing Organization.
Giuseppe Zaffino is recognized for his strong motivation, ability to be constantly on the cutting edge and always attentive to environmental and technological regulatory developments.His main goal is to innovate, offering clients tailored and effective sustainability solutions.In recent years it has been devoting efforts to an urban development model that places biodiversity at the center of the built environment. The Biodiversity Business Unit is one of Greenwich’s newest creations that aims to reach new heights of innovation and excellence.
Giuseppe Zaffino leads and interacts daily with his multidisciplinary team of more than 50 multi-skilled professionals, distributed between the Medologo and Milan offices, and specialized in advanced technical services such as LCA studies for building carbon footprint assessment, multidisciplinary specialist services afferent to energy matters and decarbonization, wellbeing, climate change services, and sustainability reporting. Its approach in its relationship with the Team aims to ensure a positive and rewarding environment and continuous growth of skills.
