With more than 36 years of experience in the environmental sector, Mario Pinoli is the visionary founder and CEO of Greenwich. Like Sustainability, his career is a journey and never a destination, which he embraces with motivation, creativity and innovation. Every project he has spearheaded and every idea he has nurtured are the result of connecting people, studies, ideas, and visions of the future.

Sometimes pushing the boundaries of possibility, Mario Pinoli, over the past 17 years, has created and transformed Greenwich into a leading force in the sustainable development sector in Italy, consolidated in five consulting areas and a market leader in Green & Healthy Building certifications. Its mission is clear: to support the creation of new sustainable leadership under Building, Product and Corporate profiles, to redefine new scenarios and ESG strategies for companies, and to contribute to carbon footprint reduction. His efforts in recent years have focused mainly on strengthening the Business Units Product and Corporate Environmental Certifications, LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and Carbon Footprint Studies, and EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Due Diligence, as well as toward the drafting of dual materiality analyses and Sustainability Reports.

With a strong background in structural geology and studies performed in the remote and majestic Central Alps, Pinoli began his professional adventure with 16 years of experience at Montana, one of the first environmental consulting firms in Italy in 1991. His passion for nature and the environment has never been limited to science. His exploratory nature led him many times among his beloved mountains, which became the symbol of his continuous search for new peaks and horizons. Significant were the expeditions to the glaciers of Everest and K2 for the environmental reclamation of the Ronbuk and Baltoro valleys, as well as studies of extreme environments, which strengthened his ability to face the toughest environmental challenges with versatility and practicality.

Inspiring his vision are iconic figures such as the Dalai Lama, Reinhold Messner, and Fosco Maraini, from whom he has drawn values such as perseverance and tolerance. Mario Pinoli also embodies these principles in his approach to leadership, working to leave a legacy of hope for future generations, and pass on knowledge and professional skills to the Resources and Talents who work with him.
