ESG DUE DILIGENCE

Greenwich now also offers ESG Due Diligence, with an assessment of the Environmental, Social, Governance aspects that embody and account for an organisation’s Social Responsibility.

ESG Due Diligence analyses the organisation’s organisational and management systems and reported performance on ESG issues.

It allows for a detailed assessment to be made of the actual consistency of an organisation’s ESG approach.

A company’s ESG performance is increasingly assessed, analysed and expressed through Sustainability Reports.

They are a key assessment topic for investors and analysts, as well as for credit institutions to assess reputation, i.e., the degree of “reliability and credibility” of a company in terms of sustainability.

After more than 30 years of experience in the field of second-party EHS Due Diligence and with in-depth integration of Governance issues, we offer ESG Due Diligence services for our Customers.

The ESG issues assessed are:

Environmental Ø Pollution of air, buildings, soil and water – Impacts on ecosystems and biodiversity – Exposure and adaptation to climate change – Energy performance and management policy and associated CO2 emissions – Raw material procurement practices – Waste management and recycling policies (by product) – Use of other resources (water) – Risk analysis in terms of legislative changes in environmental aspects (ETS, carbon tax, etc.)

Social Ø Level of customer satisfaction – Protection of customer data and compliance with privacy laws – Management of human rights risks such as labour standards, child labour and modern slavery – Relationships with workers and communities – Worker safety – Training and worker assessment processes – Supply chain risks such as standards of working conditions in the supply chain – Approach to diversity and equal opportunities for different company backgrounds – Employee attraction and retention records – Appropriate and legal use of marketing communications – Product safety

Governance Ø Compliance with accounting standards – Examples of anti-competitive behaviour – Audit committee and Board structure – Bribery and responsible tax documentation – Executive remuneration – Lobbying and political contributions – Robustness of ESG risk management processes – Presence of appropriate whistleblowers and grievance mechanisms – ESG policies – Investment plan – Research & development
